Title: Associate University Landscape Architect

Job Description: Works directly with the University Landscape Architect and is responsible for project management of landscape architectural projects through all phases of project and acts as project lead on the design of new site construction, additions, and remodeling projects throughout the IU system. Works with other Capital Planning and Facilities staff to define exterior space needs, prepare budgets, and direct the work of outside architectural firms. Monitors projects to ensure compliance with contractual plans, specifications and budget parameters. Recommends the services of private architectural and engineering consulting firms. And maintains relationships with facilities leadership staff on all campus throughout the system.

Required Experience/Skills: Evaluation of landscape architectural service proposals
Negotiation with outside architects and consultants regarding designs, fees, scope, and budget
Analysis of project budgets
Ability to deal with difficult and complex political environments and relationships
Ability to understand and communicate complicated landscape architectural alternatives and proposed solutions

Travel: Position requires work on all campuses of the state wide system. Most travel is during the work day.

Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000
